2. Principles of Data Processing
InWineTory is a locally operating wine cellar management application.
All data entered by you is processed and stored exclusively on your device. No data is automatically transmitted to us as the provider, to external servers, or to any third parties.
The app does not require registration, a user account, or sign-in to function.
We do not receive copies of your wine inventory, ratings, notes, settings, or any other content stored within the app.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
To the extent that personal data is processed locally on your device when using the app, this processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the proper functionality of the app).
As all data remains exclusively on your device and we have no access to it, you are generally the sole person processing your own content.
4. Locally Stored Data
The app stores only data entered by you or generated within the app itself. This data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database within the protected application storage area.
This data does not automatically leave your device.
What data is stored locally?
- Wine inventory (e.g. name, producer, vintage, wine type, quantity)
- Ratings and notes
- Purchase and consumption records
- App settings (e.g. language or display mode)
- Technical log files
Retention period
Wine inventory, ratings, notes, and settings are retained until you uninstall the app or manually remove the app data through your device's system settings. Log files are automatically deleted after seven days.
Access to this data
Data is stored exclusively within the protected storage area of the app on your device.
We as the developer do not have access to this data and do not receive copies of the stored content.
You may delete the data at any time by uninstalling the app or removing the app data through your device's system settings.
Local Diagnostic Data (Log Files)
For troubleshooting purposes, the app creates technical log files within the app's local storage.
These logs may contain:
- Timestamps
- App version information
- Technical error messages
- Stack traces
Log files do not contain wine inventory data, access credentials, or payment information.
Log files are automatically deleted after seven days.
They remain exclusively on your device unless you choose to export or share them yourself.
5. No Third-Party Services
InWineTory does not use services for analytics, advertising, user tracking, crash reporting, or cloud synchronisation.
In particular, the app does not use:
- Analytics services
- Crash reporting services
- Advertising networks
- Social media SDKs or plug-ins
- Cloud storage or synchronisation services
As a result, no data is automatically transmitted to third parties.
6. App Permissions
InWineTory does not request permissions for:
- Location
- Contacts
- Calendar
- Microphone
- Camera
- Health data
- Biometric data
The app uses only the operating system's private application storage area for local data storage. If you use the backup or log export function, the app accesses the operating system's file sharing functionality. This function is used exclusively when you actively initiate it.
7. Backup & Data Export
Manual Backup
InWineTory provides a manual backup function.
This function creates an export of your locally stored data in a proprietary JSON format.
The decision to store, transfer, share, or otherwise use this file is entirely yours.
If you choose to export the file, you may store it locally, send it by email, or transfer it to a cloud service or storage location of your choice.
We as the provider do not receive access to this file unless you actively choose to send it to us.
Diagnostic Log Export
The app creates technical log files exclusively on your local device. You can export these files via the „Diagnostics / Support" section in the app settings and share them using your operating system's sharing functions — for example, by email to support.
Transmission occurs only when you actively initiate it. We recommend reviewing the contents of the file before sending.
8. Children
InWineTory is a wine cellar management application intended exclusively for adults.
The app is not designed for children.
As no personal data is transmitted to us, we do not collect personal data relating to children.
9. Your Rights under the GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), data subjects are generally entitled to the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
As we do not receive or store personal data from users, we are generally unable to provide information about app content or to correct or delete data stored locally on a user's device.
Such data remains exclusively under the user's control on the user's device.
To assist with local backup and transfer of your data, the app provides a backup function.
